Top 5 Everyday Cleaning Hacks

No matter how lazy we are and how much we procrastinate and postpone, one way or another we just have to clean our house because there is only so much filth we can bear. However, from time to time, obstacles such as stubborn stains are constantly in our way. How do we get rid of chewing gum? Here are some amazing and useful cleaning hacks.

HACK 1

Use a hairdryer to remove water and oil stains from wooden surfaces.

Set the hair dryer on a suitable heat and hold it a few inches away from the water/oil stain. Use a cloth to rub away the mark. Add some baking powder for extra strength.

HACK 2

Use a squeegee to remove tough pet hairs from your carpet.

Use a squeegee with a rubber handle, and move it back and forth across your carpet. The rubber attached to it will loosen the embedded hair. Continue this process until all the hair is removed.

HACK 3

Use baking soda to lift and remove oil and water stains.

There is a way to extract oil which is both economical and easy. Spread baking soda over the oil stain. After 10 minutes a crust will start to form. You can then vacuum the crust away. Repeat if required.

HACK 4

Use ice to remove chewing gum  from your carpet.

Grab an ice cube and rub it gently over the gum to freeze it and make it easier to remove. Once it’s cold, you’ll be able to scrape it off.

HACK 5

Remove stains with an iron, a cloth and some vinegar.

Spray the spot with a solution of 1 part vinegar with 2 parts water. Lay a damp cloth over the spot. Iron the spot with the steam setting for about 30 seconds. If the stain isn’t shifting, repeat the steps.
